The Philipino Star reported today that a Filipino janitor has been detained in Hafer Al Baten Central Jail in Saudi Arabia for the last month for having an illicit relationship with a Bangladeshi co-worker. According to the 35-year-old woman, however, she did not have a relationship with the Bangladeshi man, as their employer claims, but was raped by him. As of yet, no assistance was offered to the woman by the Filipino consulate in Saudi Arabia.

This must be addressed immediately by the Saudi government. Something must be done to prevent this from happening again in the future!
