The Kuwaiti paper Arab Times reported this week about an Asian maid who was raped by her sponsor after asking to stop working for him.
The maid reported about difficulties working for the family and requested that the sponsor return her to the recruitment agency that he hired her from. The sponsor promised to take her back, but instead locked her in a room and raped her for two days.
The maid filed a complaint against the sponsor at the Hawalli police department and the man was summoned for questioning.

She should have burned their house down. There is no excuse for the employers behavior. This shows once again that the citizens of Kuwait cannot be given a governmental function like holding visas and even having employees.
The Kuwait Government is showing its incompetence by not having a VISA system and not bringing into the Labor laws the maids.
The maids cannot trust the police or the Government and when they find themselves in a position they do not like they should head straight to their embassy. Anyone in their way should be dealt with by force up to and including killing the person blocking their way.
As soon as a few Kuwaitis die trying to keep their slaves in check, the sooner they will learn the 21st century has arrived.
