The Arab Times reported this week about the averted suicide attempts by two maids in Kuwait. In the first case, an Indonesian maid in her thirties threatened to jump from high at her sponsor’s house in Omariya. The firemen and paramedics managed to talk her out of jumping after an hour. In a second case, an Asian maid who also threatened to jump from high was saved by Kuwaiti authorities in the area of Naeem.
Reports of this kind appear on a weekly basis in Kuwait. We are yet to hear about a case being opened against sponsors who abuse their maids and drive them to suicide.

This is nothing new, happens almost everyday unfortunately. These were the lucky ones. Most of them are pushed over the edge. The fact is nobody cares enough to make a change.May God have mercy on them.
