Seven thousand current and former employees of Kuwaiti infrastructure company Kharafi National have been stranded without pay, food, or accommodation for over a year. Three thousand of the workers hail from India. Most have expired visas, which prevents them from returning home without paying a steep fine. Workers report that some men have committed suicide waiting for respite.
