Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported today the death, last Wednesday, during the Ad'ha holiday, of a Bengali domestic worker, Kazol Idris, aged 24. The worker fell from the window of her employer's house, Hassan Sh., on the third floor of a building located in the American neighborhood in Hadath. No further information is given.
Al-Akhbar added that human rights activists recently noted a rise in complaints of non-payment of wages due to migrant domestic workers, which is used as a pressure tool by the employers to keep their employees working 24/7.
The articles also described cases of death or injury of male migrant workers including an Indian, a Pakistani and a Syrian.
