Hindi becomes third language in Abu Dhabi Court System

Migrants can now lodge complaints and requests in Hindi, in an effort Abu Dhabi says is aimed at improving access to justice and attracting foreign investment.

It was only last year that Abu Dhabi required all court documents to be translated into English if the plaintiff is not an Arabic speaker.

The cost of translating documents and hiring a translator for court proceedings is one of the major obstacles lower-income migrants face in seeking redress for grievances.
